Privacy notice

In short: this website uses no profiling cookies and no analytics tools, and it has no forms to fill in. Below is how we process personal data, under Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

What data we process and why

• Browsing data. Like any website, the server records technical data (IP address, date and time, requested page, browser type) needed to show the pages and keep them secure. The site is hosted by Netlify, Inc., which acts as a processor. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running and protecting the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We do not use this data to profile you.
• Contact requests. If you call us, write on WhatsApp or send an email, we process the data you give us (name, contact details, content of your request) only to reply and to handle any booking. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)). WhatsApp messages also pass through WhatsApp's systems, which is an independent controller of its own service.
• Booking and stay. If you book, we process the data needed for the booking and for legal obligations (reporting to the public security authorities, tourist tax, tax rules). Legal basis: contract and legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(b) and (c)). We keep the data for as long as the law requires.
• Google Maps. The map in the «Location» section loads only after you click «Load the map». Only then can Google receive your IP address and set cookies, according to its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). If you do not click, no data is sent to Google.

Cookies

This site does not set its own cookies or profiling cookies and uses no analytics tools. The only cookies possible are Google's, and only if you load the map.

Who receives the data

We do not sell or publish your data. It may be received by the technical providers that help us run the site (Netlify, for hosting) and, if you load the map, by Google. We may disclose it to the authorities when the law requires. Netlify and Google may also process data outside the European Union (for example in the United States) with the safeguards required by the GDPR, such as standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

You may at any time ask us for access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability of your data (Articles 15 to 22 GDPR) by writing to bnbmassaua@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, www.garanteprivacy.it).
